Some New Treasures and old Standbys Yesterday I attended an auction in Lima NY at the home of the former Judge Hennessy who lived in a beautiful brick home on Main Street. This was my second auction and this time I felt a little sad as I walked through Judge Hennessy's home; thinking about how a life ends with people strolling through your possessions deciding if it's "worthy" of coming home with them to join their other possessions for other people to stroll through at the end of their lives. I guess at age 52 my own mortality comes a little sharper into focus than a few years ago. The auction was run by the Cottone brothers and this was a lot more professionally run than the last one I attended in Springwater. And the prices reflected the substantial difference in the quality of items being auctioned off. Art work, Steubenware, oriental rugs, Navajo rugs, authentic hats from the judges' trip to China....gorgeous old furniture, guilded mirrors, old letters from the Civil War; 1st edition books. Thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars....and I sat there watching everything being sold for WAY more than I can afford. I left about 3/4 through the auction and went over to the Antique Mall in Lima where I spent my whopping $19.23 on a few of my own little treasures. I'm attaching copies of the vintage hankies I bought that I plan to frame and hang in my dining room; I'm also posting a photo of my new shabby chic display in our sitting room. It makes me happy to see this little collection so I thought I'd share it on my blog. Enjoy my little treasures!

Make Mine Medium II Things just keep getting more interesting by the minute regarding the Bob Steeb cold case homicide Dan is working on. Some of you saw Dan on the news last week, and I appreciate your nice comments afterward. But what we learned last week is far and away the most exciting news on the case so far! Dan got a very promising lead last week that he has to do a lot of followup work on this week to see if the information is valid. And in the midst of this new information he received another call from Allison DuBois' secretary who informed Dan that NBC is planning on adding a second show involving Allison DuBois next Fall where she focuses on solving just cold cases....and guess who Allison has decided to feature on her new show????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? She's flying into Rochester this July to start working with Dan on this case and she is very enthusiastic about helping him solve it! I've often said that there are NO coincidences, and recently it just feels like all of the stars and planets are aligning just right so the publicity that the Bob Steeb case has so desperately needed is all coming together and now a good lead has resulted from the publicity plus this new Allison DuBois show is coming into play; it just feels right and like the case is going to be solved. It would be such a relief to Bob Steeb's family and Dan to bring the killer(s) to justice. If you believe in the power of prayer now would be a great time to send a few Dan's way!!!!!!

Baby toes You know me, loving the new Grandma role...well, I love Aidan's baby toes....but for more than what you might think....not only are they cute, but Colleen has noticed that he has inherited a habit that BOTH his mother and Grandpa Gleason have....they rub their feet together! It may sound a little strange, but it's true. He does the same thing that Dan does when he is sitting around doing nothin'; he rubs his little feet together. Of course it's ADORABLE! Here are a few shots of his "baby toes" (oops, I had to include a shot of his baby face too!)
I Love Springtime I was walking around the yard and decided to snap a few pics of my favorite time of year!

Front Page Above The Fold Remember a few weeks ago when I posted the link to the Bob Steep Murder Investigation video when Dan was featured on TV? Well this week he made the front page of the D&C and was even "above the fold" which many of you will know means that it was a top story! So I'm going to try to add the link so you can see the article. Once again he's made me proud! Now if he can just get a legitimate lead....so he can solve this 30 year old cold case. Get this one! The day after the article was in the paper an older gentleman who grew up in the 19th Ward where the murder occurred called Dan to tell him that he had a few things to share with Dan. The VERY FIRST thing he told Dan was that he thought he might have the year that the murder occurred wrong; he didn't think it was 1978!!!!!!! What a riot! Now do you think of ALL things Dan could get wrong that he'd get the YEAR wrong? But Dan was patient and listened to what the guy had to tell him....and a few things he said actually were correct, but none of the information was new so it didn't really help Dan out in solving the case. I just thought that was funny.... so check it out if you didn't see the article in the paper!
I'm an official "junker" For those of you who have been reading my blog you know that I've been transforming an old chandelier into a beautiful "new" black one to hang in Meghan's "new" room. I've been dying to post a pic but it's still not done because I'm still waiting for the 25 black dangling prisms to arrive from this company I was very excited to find on-line. But now I'll tell you NEVER to do business with...www.gspncrystal.com. Cheap and poorly made and they don't communicate well with their customers (and don't put packing slips in with shipments etc.etc. etc.) Anyways, now I'm taking on a new transformation of this "junker" brown metal headboard that I found in a dumpster along side East Lake Road on my way home the other day! It's not perfect because it's missing one of its upright posts, but I don't care I still love it! So now I'm going to clean it and paint it white and find a special place of honor for it in our gardens. When it's done I'll post a pic. But the reason my title is that I'm a junker is that when I pulled the headboard out of the trunk of the Malibu and Dan came outside to see my "treasure" he told me "You're a junker now"....hmmm, should I be happy with this new title? I'm proud of my find so I guess I should be proud of my new title! lol!
